I simply love Summer in the Alps!

Known for its vast alpine slopes in the winter, come spring these transition into miles of lush green valley’s full of wild flowers, nature and trails.

There is so much to do and a stay at White Valley Lodge makes it a perfect base.

The Lodge is located in the stunning area of natural beauty, Vallee de la Manche, just a 15minute walk from Morzine town centre.

Nestled in an elevated spot we enjoy a tranquil location surrounded by beautiful views, perfect for relaxing getaways or action packed family holidays.

A scenic river pathway nearby, provides for a gentle stroll to the bars and restaurants.

Wake up in one of our comfy double bedrooms, enjoy a cuppa and breakfast on the terrace whilst the sunrises from the west of the lodge. Fun packed days enjoying some of the many activities recommended below then return to the lodge to relax in our spa. With a hot tub, sauna and cold plunge dip all on the elevated decks you can watch sunsets to the east of the lodge. Retreat to our cosy lounge area with the fire, TV and board games or why not enjoy a self-catered meal around the large dining table with a bottle of French wine and local cheeses.

Morzine centre is a beautiful little town, full of restaurants, bars and shops.  You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to eating out, or to make the most of our self-catered facilities you could shop at the supermarkets or local farmers market (on Wednesdays) and enjoy our French la plancha BBQ at the lodge whilst overlooking the picture-perfect view.

Pilates & Fitness

Here at White Valley Lodge we love hosting Pilates retreats – keep in contact with us for next dates.

Whilst staying with us we recommend Georgie Kennington Pilates who we use for our retreats and weekly workouts- Georgie is available for private Pilates and Yoga sessions at the Lodge. In the centre of town, you will also find Mountain Rehab for group yoga, Pilates both mat and reformer, spin classes and a well-equipped gym.

Morzine has grown to be a very popular biking resort, whether its road biking or mountain biking. We have trails and routes for both. Morzine has hosted Tour de France over the years which attract many groups of cyclists of all abilities; there are 15 mapped itineraries from town, leading through the spectacular mountain roads.

If you don’t have your own bike, not to worry; Morzine is full of bike shops where you can hire bikes for the day and get expert advice on routes.

Spa & Massage

Holidays are for relaxing too. Our therapist Carrie, owner of the Little Mountain Spa has the most magical healing hands! Carrie comes to the Lodge providing wonderful treatments from massages to manicures, so no need to leave your quiet space. A massage on the decks is an experience not to be missed.

We are lucky that both or our neighbouring towns: Les Gets and Avoriaz have golf courses.

Les Gets has an 18-hole golf course which opens from the 9th June – 7th September and Avoriaz has a 9 hole golf course which is open from 15th June – 30th Sept. Both are situated on the mountain and provide stunning views.

White Water Rafting

Fancy doing something a bit different?  Our river that runs down the valley supplies us with great rapids and a lot of fun for white water rafting. This is a great activity to do with friends or for a group team building experience.  For more information, head to http://www.frogsrafting.com/

Other Activities

There are 9 tennis courts situated in the centre of Morzine along with an ice hockey court, mini pump track and skate park. Plenty to keep the kids busy! This area is close to the Dereches river walk (which starts just down from the White Valley Lodge), along here you will find a kids play area, horse riding school, tree top adventure climbing, ideal tracks for jogging and outside wooden exercise obstacles (great for a morning workout).

If you want to experience something a bit more extreme, why not try paragliding. Starting up the mountain and soaring down over Morzine.  Witnessing panoramic and birds eye views, an experience not to miss. Don’t forget to bring your go pro along!

Morzine also has a large outdoor swimming pool and Indoor ice rink; this can also be found down by the Dereches river walk. All info found on: http://www.parc-dereches.com/en/indoor-swimming-pool/

There are two lakes situated near to the White Valley Lodge, the closest would be Lac mines d’or, which is a 5 minute drive up the road and then a 20 minute walk to the top which boasts views of Vallee de la manche and surrounds itself with woodland walks/ hikes. From here you can enjoy picnics, a drink at the lakeside café and walks in nature. A brilliant family walk from the lake is the Col de Cou – which brings you to stunning views of Les Terre Maudits rock face and the Dents du Midi in Switzerland. The area is also known for its bird’s migration, therefore great for some bird watching.

The next nearby lake is Lac Montriond, which is a 20-minute car drive to the other side of Morzine, a great location for a full family days out where you can take part in kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, BBQ’s and catching some rays.

10 minute walk from your Lodge doorstep, we have Nyon Mountain. Here you can walk from the river up a short pathway to the cascades de Nyon which is a magical place for photographer & nature lovers. You can also take part in canyoning and more tree top adventure activities.

From here you can also find hiking routes which take you up the mountain towards point de Nyon, which is absolutely fabulous for views of Morzine and the surrounding mountains.

The Lodge and Spa is open from June through to September so why not make this your Alpine home for a week or two. Offered on a self-catered basis although we work with a number of local chefs should you prefer more support for some or all of your stay.
