White Valley Lodge guests enjoy skiing in the snowiest resort in the French Alps.

When Andrew and I chose Morzine-Avoriaz as the location for our luxury ski lodge, we considered a number of factors. Our proximity to the Portes du Soleil’s highest resort was key. Whilst Morzine, with all of its village charm and character nestles at 1000m in altitude, Avoriaz at resort level sits at 1800m, with its highest pistes reaching over 3000m. Avoriaz is snow-sure throughout the winter season and was named Europe’s snowiest resort at the end of the Winter 2015 season.

In its end of season snow round-up, respected weather website Weather To Ski sumarised that even though it wasn’t a particularly snowy season across Europe, Avoriaz did very well indeed. “With 6.11m at 1800m, Avoriaz did emerge (as it often does) as the snowiest ski resort in France” the report concluded.

What does this mean for White Valley guests? Our ski lodge is just minutes from the new Prodains Gondola lift, which carries 2,400 skiers an hour to Avoriaz. From finishing your breakfast to clipping into your skis for the first run of the day, your dedicated in-resort chauffeur can have you on the pistes in as little as 15 minutes.
